“What do you desire?
For Christmas, for the summer (or winter), for 2007, for your family, for yourself, for life? How often do you ask yourself about your desires? I ask you because we spend most of our time fulfilling our own desires. Yet so often my desires are founded upon fading worldly things; things that will pass away. So often my desires are selfish.”
The above just arrived in a Christmas card from a friend. I like the thought. I feel like my desires are pretty basic; a lot of the time they just go something like, “I wish there were fewer bills in the mail and a little extra cash in my wallet.”
Nothing wrong with that… except the focus is still on worldly things that will pass away. God’s got something bigger in mind:
“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

INTRODUCING THE NEWEST MEMBER OF OUR EXTENDED FAMILY…. ZOE!!

My brother Craig and his wife Joan adopted this beautiful little puppy
She’s a beautiful little shy girl, but oh so cute. Part Corgey and part Australian
healer or shepherd or something like that. I just love her coloring!! Can’t wait until she and Vienna get old enough to play with each other
Zoe joins her feline siblings CJ, Gemi and Huck.

Ahhhhh… now THAT’s Relaxing!!!

For some reason, Vienna has an aversion to being put down, left alone, or put in her crib. I suspect this is because of too much time at Grandma & Grandpa’s!!!! (They are filling their grandparent roles QUITE well by pampering our little one). This morning I wanted to go to Curves so I put her in bed with us hoping that if she ate and was in our bed she’d go back to sleep. It worked! (with a little aide from pillows so she thinks mommy’s there!) I got back and she was sprawled so cute!!! (Sam had been on an early morning business call, so she had the whole king size bed to herself!
This morning she is laying on the floor, trying to crank her neck up as far as possible so she can watch the t.v.!! (Already addicted!! Guess mommy’s gonna have to find some other noise maker for background while she works!!!) She’s talking up a storm!!! I would love to know what she’s trying to say, what she’s thinking. She hates being on her tummy though, so hopefully this means she’s going to take a longer time before crawling!!! With as much as she talks, as easily as she gets bored, and as much as she seems to notice, I’m afraid she’s going to be like her mom and be getting into EVERYTHING before I know it!!
For those not yet with baby… They take over the ENTIRE house!! I’ve already started putting away all the chotchke that seem to be at baby level (that I don’t want broken or would be dangerous). I’ve already killed the pretty plant my brother and sister-in-law brought us as a housewarming gift, so I guess I don’t have to worry about her getting poisoned from that (at least I’m keeping the BABY alive!!!!! don’t really know what happened there!?!?!?!) She has more floor space for her crib, cradle, swing, bouncer, baby gym and highchair (that she’s not using yet) than I had ever anticipated!!! I’m thinking that maybe having her is going to help me with all the hording of stuff I’ve kept most of my life, we’ll see. At present I have a closet FULL of clothes I can’t wear!! But we’ll save that for another blog!!!!
